Lining Color

I saw a candid photo of an actress that had her cocktail dress partially blowing up in the air - enough to expose the lining. It was a deep purple dress, but the lining was tan. This struck me as a really good idea for projects like dresses and skirts where the lining is not really meant to be seen. Instead of trying to color coordinate a lining with the dress fabric, just use a tan colored one that matches the skin tone as closely as possible. Minimizes showthrough, and allows you to buy lining in bulk.
