These are a few more not included in my original post. I’ve ordered from all three of the following places at some point during the past two years.
Jumping June Textiles
I got the nicest sweatshirt fleece in my life from this place! She has AWESOME cotton sweatshirt fleeces. They are so soft and have some stretch to them (I would say more than the average sweatshirt fleece), but are still very stable and easy to work with. My absolute favorite hoodie is made from one of her sweatshirt fleeces, and after many washes there’s still no pilling and it has consistently retained its shape. You can often find coordinating 220gsm ribbing for the sweatshirt fleeces and french terry fabrics she has. I also found a fantastic quilted fabric I used to make a bomber jacket for my son last fall. Lots of beautiful jersey prints too. If I was rich I would totally source all of my son’s fabrics from here, because she has some of the most amazing little boy truck/tractor/dinosaur prints.
Prices are rather high, but the stock is top-notch quality. I only order if I can get a coupon or if there’s a sale. I highly recommend signing up for the mailing list.
I found shipping reasonable and fast.
EOS Fabrics (Emma One Sock)
This is a popular premium fabric store famous for their quality fabrics. I haven’t bought from here a lot because I find the prices can be rather premium as well, and a lot of the fabrics are just too precious for my lifestyle now. That being said, she does have some great sales every so often. I recently picked up some 1.5 yard precuts of European cotton/lycra jersey for only $10 each! With some very careful cutting I was able to get a Jalie Tina t-shirt out of it along with a coordinating Jalie Claudia bra and Ottobre panties out of one length that I recently used.
One thing I like is that when she’s out of stock of something, she seems to leave the listing up so you can cross reference it in the future.
Shipping is not only fast and reasonably priced, but all of the fabrics come wrapped in tissue paper. Such a pleasant experience opening it!
The Fabric Store
This shop is based in New Zealand. I found it when I was searching for merino fleece fabrics. They had some sort of sale and their poly/merino sweatshirt fleece was way cheaper than anything I could find in the United States. In general their prices seem quite reasonable, especially for merino knits. The only reason why I probably won’t order from them (or any other non-US seller) again is because of those stupid Trump tariffs. (I’m sure I’m not the only one out there that shies away from ordering internationally now due to not knowing how bad the tariff will be once it arrives in the States.)
Shipping was a very reasonable $15. I don’t remember how long it took (I ordered about a year and a half ago) but I don’t think it took more than a couple of weeks.
Clothing Engineer 
Anne, have you looked at Discovery Fabrics in BC, Canada? They carry the largest assortment of technical fabrics in Canada ,including a lot of polartec products, plus a lot of other natural fibres and just plain garment fabrics. Eg. bamboo and cotton jerseys & fleeces in various weights, merino in two weights, one silk, few linen and blends. Anything polartec goes into the US without tariffs. Their prices are reasonable, even better with US exchange, and they have some super deals in their clearance section. Once or sometimes twice a year, they have sales of 15% off across the site, including all the polartecs. If nothing else, their website is a goldmine of information about polartec, lol. They have a fb group as well that’s one of the nicest groups I’ve known – Sew Inspired By Discovery Fabrics. This is where they’ll do a lot of educational video clips about the products and it’s also where they’ll announce spontaneous sales. An an example: Right now, for instance, they have a one off,never to be repeated, product from Polartec that consists of a heavier fleece, maybe 300 wt, that has a fusible backing applied – $15Cdn a metre (about $10 USD?). Really interesting product – I just got mine in the mail. The plan to fuse it to a light supplex nylon for a really warm, weatherproof jacket for some little fellas. Placemats or heat pads were somebody else’s suggestion!They are a small family business but the customer service is beyond the pale and every one of their staff is really knowledgeable both about their fabrics and sewing in general. They have a small side manufacturing business as well – in fact, that’s how the fabric end of it started. I found out about them this spring through Jalie. I want to order from them (especially since they seemed to have figured out the tariff situation) but am focusing more right now on working through my stash as we’ve had $5k in unanticipated home repairs this spring, and are looking at another $4-5k after more stuff broke this month! 😭 Thanks so much for the info though, I definitely want to try them.
